Senate Standing Committee on Fiscal Planning & Budgeting

Committee Description/Mission

The Fiscal Planning and Budgeting Committee provides a link between the faculty in general and the Faculty Senate in particular and University administrators concerned with fiscal planning and budgeting. On the other hand, the Committee receives and comments on current and future revenue, expenditure, and capital planning proposals from the administration, as well as periodic reports from the Budget Advisory Team. In turn, the Committee conveys, to the Senate, faculty concerns for the form and process of fiscal planning, as well as for the actual decisions reached. It is important to remember that fiscal planning is a process that includes both the institutional mechanisms through which potential revenue and expenditure decisions are made, as well as the criteria used to evaluate proposals and the final outcomes of the decision-making process.
