Committee Service Volunteer Call

GW has an exceptionally strong record of effective shared governance, the success of which is dependent on the willingness of faculty to participate in the process. The faculty's role in shared governance at GW depends on well-considered recommendations emanating from representatives from the full spectrum of disciplines and diversity of views at GW.

The Faculty Senate accomplishes this through the hard work of its standing committees; all faculty, staff, and students are welcome to volunteer for Senate standing committees. There are also some university administrative committees open to faculty volunteers; these are not Senate committees, but, if you are interested in service in these areas, the form includes space for you to indicate your interest.

Please contribute to a better GW by volunteering for one or more of these committees!

The annual call for committee volunteers is now open, and you are invited to volunteer for committee service. Review the committee descriptions for information about the work of the committees, and please direct any questions to jennoatgwu [dot] edu (Jenna Chaojareon). Please complete the form below by Friday, March 20, 2026. 2026-2027 committee rosters will be presented to the Faculty Senate for approval in May.

Please Note: Committees are re-staffed each year; current committee members interested in remaining on a committee should complete this form to register their interest in continued service.
