Senate and University Committees

The Faculty Senate maintains several standing committees that are staffed by faculty; many include staff and student representation. The Senate office also assists with faculty staffing for three administrative committees and coordinates membership for the Senate-appointed Dispute Resolution Committee.

Faculty of any rank are invited to apply to serve on these committees, with the exception of the Dispute Resolution Committee (which requires that members be tenured faculty not currently holding an administrative appointment). Committees are re-staffed in the spring of each year.

Each summer, the Faculty Senate Executive Committee (FSEC) issues charges to the Senate's ten standing committees. As the charge memos note, committees are not limited to the listed charges and are welcome to explore other issues as needed during the year.
